A List of Favourite Things 02

Some days I have so many tabs open in my brain that I need to brain dump things, hence why this post came about. There are so many things, books, topics, websites, articles, places, I want to share with you guys because I think you might like it and find it useful, but I never do, because well… blogging like the old days feels weird? I feel weird to just write a short post sharing links.. you know?! I feel like these days everything had to have a deep purpose and look like it’s been shot for Vogue magazine.. ya feel me? Anyway, so here’s to more Brain Dumping lists… (this is why I practice a “daily”- ie. when I remember - morning pages.. because it helps SO much!)

  • This BOOK : by Greg McKeown called “Essentialism: The Disciplined Pursuit of Less” - Jessica (from @jessicarosewilliams) shared about this book months ago, and I saved it in a folder on my phone (I screenshot books I’d like to read and then add them all in a folder for me to review when I need a new book), and it resonated with me! Since going freelance I have found it hard to switch my mentality that longer hours = better work, and that I can do as much and better work in half the time and enjoy my life the rest of the time.. it’s a freelancing guilt I guess, but it means that some days I’ll force myself to sit at my computer ALL day when really I’d be better off doing other more productive life things.. I’ll keep you updated when I’ve finished reading it!

  • This BLOG : I have recently become obsessed with Julia Marcum from the blog Chris Loves Julia..! I love a good renovation project, and I really love the way they share their life, and love reading their blog too. If you’re into interior design, homemaking and pretty things, I think you’ll like it too!

  • These ACCOUNTS: I’ve been cooking and sharing a lot on my Stories and I’ve been loving it. I am forever inspired by @erinireland (the vegan Stories queen, always hungry when watching her cook!), @thefirstmess (Laura’s recipes are AMAZING, also loving watching her perfect her latte art every morning), @brittanyviklund (love following Brittany’s beautiful little family, her simple recipes, her book recommendations), @ellenfisher (her recipes, her amazing vlogs, and recently her membership space!), @lonijane (such a beautiful soul, her recipes and sunny lifestyle), @amberfillerup (love watching Amber’s parenting, and her amazing style), @annstreetstudio (for her lifestyle in France and her art), @jeanlabu (for her travels, her beautiful lifestyle), @allylwalsh (for her beautiful brand, simplicity), @taylranne (for her images, her aesthetic)… The list goes on, but I try and share weekly all of my favourite saved posts on Instagram in my Story. I love when people do that, I always discover some gems, so I hope you find some inspiration! (sharing some tonight!)

  • This PLAYLIST: This Chilled Classical playlist on Spotify is a favourite of mine, I play this day in and day out, it’s the playlist I put on when I need to do work because it calms me and allows me to focus. It also creates a really peaceful atmosphere at home. I also often turn on my own playlist such as my Cabin Music 01, Cabin Music 02, and my Country playlist..!

  • These WORKOUTS: if you’ve followed me for a while you know that I SWEAR by Melissa Wood’s workouts..! I see crazy results in such a short amount of time, they are short and powerful, yet calm and slow, I recommend them to anyone who will hear it. She now has an app which makes the whole experience even better..! I’ve been trying to get back into doing them at least 4 to 5 times a week. Starting my day by moving my body makes me feel so good..!

  • These other BOOKS : I finished reading Sally Rooney’s “Conversations with Friends” & “Normal People” - I definitely preferred Normal People, but loved both! Easy reads, highly recommend! I am now midway into “The Giver of Stars” also a great read so far, fully transported into a new world, attached to the characters, it’s definitely a page-turner.

  • This APP : loving the Soundly app, for meditating, or for working and focusing, or simply for bedtime and winding down. You can make your own mixes.. and choose from a library of nature sounds, choose the volume etc.. it’s so good!

That’s all for now! Make sure to check out my Story tonight for a lit of my favourite insta post in the past few weeks..! Maybe I should start sharing these on a specific day, so you can look out for them..?
